Terry received his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Georgia in 1979 and his Master of Business Administration from Emory University in 1995. He is a Registered Landscape Architect in Georgia, Alabama, N. Carolina & S. Carolina and a Registered General Contractor in N. Carolina.

He served as Director of Landscape Architecture for John Wieland Homes and Neighborhoods from 1982 to 1996 and contributed to the company's reputation for excellence in entrance, recreation and community planning.

During Terry's 14-year tenure, John Wieland Homes won numerous awards for community excellence. His vision for neighborhood design helped to establish the company as one of the nation's premier residential developers. Since 1996, Terry has served as Principal of Baker Land Design. He has provided consultation to developers and property owners throughout the Southeast.

He has four children and resides in Duluth, GA.
